Stephen R. Collins
Career Summary
Steve Collins has more than 30 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate almost exclusively representing global institutions seeking to build international real estate platforms.
Steve’s most recent role as the Head of Global Capital Advisors at JLL was an expansion of his responsibilities as the President of JLL’s America’s Capital Markets, where he focused on executing cross-border transactions between the regions of the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. The Goal of the Global Capital Advisors role was to collaborate and extend the reach of the existing local and regional Capital Markets teams. Additionally, Steve founded the Portfolio Advisory Services Group (PAS) to underwrite and provide DD services to Institutional clients. He also served on JLL’s Americas Capital Markets Senior Leadership Council.
Prior to joining JLL in 2006, Steve was a partner in Spaulding & Slye, a brokerage/development firm, as well as the Director of Ernst and Young’s (EY) Capital Markets and Corporate Services Group. Steve also served as President of GVA Worldwide, a professional real estate organization with more than 3,600 professionals in offices throughout 20 countries and 5 continents
At JLL, Steve was instrumental in shaping the overall direction of the firm’s involvement with international investors . He has also made significant contributions to JLL’s direct business development through proprietary deal sourcing and has reshaped the firm’s Global presence, working to integrate several new components of JLL service lines into the National business model.
Steve was involved in executing some of JLL’s largest transactions to include the sale of the Alecta Portfolio (approx. $5B), NBIM/TIAA JV ($1.2B) and 1801 K Street ($445M) and the securing of 17M square feet of Property Management and Leasing for JLL’s Canadian Business on behalf of Ivanhoe Cambridge. Additionally, Steve was responsible for securing approximately 7M square feet of Management from Canadian Investor, Manulife, for JLL US Business.
